Board Of Directors

President – Steve Lewis

Steve rowed with the Aztecs from 1991 – 1995. He was part of the undefeated novice boat in Spring 1992. After his rowing career with the men he coached the SDSU women’s crew for 3 years. He is still a morning person.

Vice President – Royce Cumming

Royce “Buggy” Cummings is a former president of Aztec Rowing, and SDSU 2016 Graduate. He is a published biologist, with an expansive knowledge of insect species. He currently resides in New York, but frequently adventures the remotest regions of the world to discover new species. Royce has an
incredible love for rowing, and as a former club president, appreciates the growth these programs provide to young men and women.

Treasurer – Andy Olson

Andy rowed and was on officer for the team from 1997-2000, then traded his oar for a megaphone and continued to serve as a novice coach for the next few years. Andy was also the founding President of the H. Del Beekley Rowing Foundation and has has served various positions on the board in the years since.

Secretary – Kris Corley

At large board member – Kameron Kennington

Kam rowed for the Aztecs from 2011-2015, serving his final year as the club’s Public Relations Officer. Kam joined the Foundation in 2020 as a member at-large and has stepped up to Secretary in 2021 and has taken back over in an at-large position this year. He is eager to continue to follow the team’s growth, and is honored to have a chance to help create positive momentum for current and future Aztec oarsmen.

At large board member – Joey Matus

Joey rowed for SDSU from 2012-2016, serving various officer positions during his time with the team. After graduating, he enjoyed a few more years of San Diego sun before moving back to the east coast. He is excited for the opportunity to help current and future athletes find success and fulfillment in their rowing careers.
